Supermarket Compare was created by Matthew Barclay as part of his BEng Software Engineering dissertation. The application was designed with the aim of helping households with their supermarket budgeting by comparing the cost of staple items across UK supermarkets.
The objective is to make everyday essentials more affordable, and accessible to households on the lower end of the spectrum in terms of household income. The design prioritises being simple and functional to assist users in saving money through effective budgeting decisions.
